The Alternative Spring Break (ASB) Assistant Director will be employed by the Goldfarb Center, through the office of the Colby Volunteer Center (CVC). The CVC is looking for someone who is self-motivated, committed and consistent. Interested applicants should be of the Class of 2016, or of the Class of 2015 and not planning on going abroad their junior year.
Specific Responsibilities of Colby Volunteer Center ASB Assistant Director Include:
The foremost responsibility of the Assistant Director of the CVC will be the success and continuation of the ASB Program. Specifically, aspects of the job will include:
- Recruitment of trip leaders: the first task will be to find leaders that are committed, experienced, and eager to ensure the planning and execution of ASB trips.
- Advertising of trips to general public: Publicity is an important part of ASB. In order to make ASB a campus-wide opportunity, we need creative and effective ways of reaching students.
- Planning of educational seminars: in order to maximize the experience for students, we hold educational seminars throughout the year led by Colby professors on a range or relevant topics. Planning an execution of these seminars is an important aspect of ASB.
